Crenguța Leaua has over 20 years of experience in the legal profession, specializing in international trade law and primarily focusing on international arbitration. She has acted in cases before various international arbitral institutions, including ICSID, ICC Paris, VIAC Vienna, and WIPO, as well as several national arbitration centers. She has been featured in “Who’s Who Legal” for international arbitration in every edition since 2007 and was recognized as a “Thought Leader” by Global Arbitration Review in 2017 and 2018.
Her extensive experience as an arbitrator includes over 130 cases, most of which were conducted under the ICC International Court of Arbitration and the Court of International Commercial Arbitration attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, as well as ad hoc arbitrations under UNCITRAL rules. She is a member of the arbitrator panels of numerous centers, including those of the chambers of commerce and industry in Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Poland, and Moldova, as well as the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center, the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC), and the arbitration centers in Beijing (CIETAC), Shanghai, and Kuala Lumpur.
She is a Professor at the Faculty of Law within the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE). She was a visiting scholar at Columbia Law School (New York) and has been invited to guest lecture at Sciences Po (Paris), Georgetown Law (Washington, D.C.), Columbia Law School (New York), and Washburn University (Kansas).
